Tate, for the past threeyears pastor of the PresbyterianChurch in Oakland, Fla., has accept-ed the call to the Murphy and Hayes-ville Churches of Asheville Presby-tery and expects to preach his firstsermon in Murphy on October 21 at11:00 and at Hayesville on theafternoon or evening of the sameday. Mr. Tate is a native of McDowellCounty, North Carolina, and was ed-ucated at Davidson College, wherehe received the degrees of , and of Union Theological Sem-inary, where he received his in1916. He was pastor of UnityChurch in Kings Mountain Presby-tery in 1916-17, served in at Camp Jackson, S. C,during the first World V/ar. From1919-22 he was pastor at Badin,N.
