The board of commissioners for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, hold a novelty check for $ million with Col. Aaron Reisinger (front row, right), commander and district engineer of the Army Corps of Engineers Chicago District, following a signing ceremony Jan. 3. The MWRD received $ million in federal funds under authority of Section 1043 of the Water Resources Reform and Development Act of 2014, which allows federal funds to transfer through the Army Corps of Engineers to local sponsors for authorized projects.
