140806-N-ZE250-047 AEGEAN SEA, (Aug. 6, 2014) Seaman Shawn Snyder and Seaman Shawyahna Bell help assist a pilot aboard the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Vella Gulf (CG 72) to help navigate the ship through the Dardanelles Strait en route to the Black Sea. Vella Gulf, homeported in Norfolk, Va., is conducting naval operations with partners and allies in the 6th Fleet area of operations in order to advance security and stability in Europe.
