Rep. Mo. Bot. Gard. 3, pi. 6. Var. recurvifolia, Engelni. ( Y. recurvi- fdlia, Salisb. 1". re- cnrva, Haw. V. pfn- dula, Hort. Has the lvs. less plicate, soon green, gracefully re- curved, occasionally with a few detaching marginal threads. Car- olina coast region. Gn. 47, p. 337. 1858, p. 433; 1859, p. 488. Variegated forms of this are the following: Var. marginata, Carr. Lvs. yellow-margined; var. variegata, Carr. Lvs. with yellow me- dian band; and var. elegans, Hort. Lvs. with reddish median band. ,Carr. (, Bak.). Lvs. glaucous, not pli- cate, less recurved. Var. flexilis, Trel. ( Y. fUxilis, Carr.). Lvs. long, narrow, less than an inch wide, scarcely plicate, glossy green, gracefully recurved, occasionally a little rough on the margin.— Hybrids of with both capsular and fleshy - fruited species have been artificially produced in Europe, and are in some European gardens under the names Y. Deleuili, Y. sulcata, Y. Carrierei, Y. Andreana, Y. draectnoides, Y. striatula, Y. Massiliensis, Y. ensi- fera, Y. Imviqata and Y. juncea. 1886, p. G3; 1895, p. 81. For descriptions see 1893, p. 109.
