Martian landscape. This HiRISE image shows hints of an ancient shoreline in southern Isidis Planitia. This areaÑknown as the Deuteronilus contact of the Isidis BasinÑhas been interpreted as a possible ancient shoreline. There are also suggestions that this contact is of volcanic origin. Image shows terrain less than 5 km (3 mi) across. A unique optimised version of NASA imagery. Credit: NASA/JPL/UArizona
