Light micrograph of a bubbles of colloid. Colloid is the substance inside the thyroid glands in which thyroid hormones are synthesized. The colloid (bright pink) in this tissue section has formed bubbles with a “polka dot” like appearance. Haematoxylin and eosin stained tissue section. Magnification: 400x when printed at 10cm.
