The museum contains an extensive collection of artifacts from 17th century shipwrecks, such as the Henrietta Marie, Nuestra Señora de Atocha and Santa Margarita. It's named for founder Mel Fisher, an American treasure hunter best known for finding the 1622 wreck of the Nuestra Señora de Atocha.
