Roman Egyptian plaster funerary Mask, 100 - 149 AD. Louvre Museum AF 6694. Mummy mask of a woman (braided hair, bun , earrings). This mask shows a very sophisticated hairstyle composed of an arch adorned with braids surmounting the forehead and a large braid that winds to the back of the head: it is characteristic of the time of Trajan. This imperial style, however, came late in the provinces, and an accurate dating of these portraits is difficult. Painted plaster. Hauteur : 28 cm ; Largeur : 19 cm ; Epaisseur : 18 cm. Denon room 183.
