RESULTS In a preliminary series of tests, the oxygen consumption rates of several indi- vidual urchins were determined at frequent intervals for periods greatly exceeding the length of the metabolic rate-temperature experiments. All tests were run at a temperature of 12°. Figure 2, showing the results of a 36 hour experiment-.
