Its chief diagnostic characters are the presence of only 3 posterior cells in the wings, absence of a discoidal cell, the straight second longitudinal vein and vein between submarginal cells, the apically acute and stalked anal cell, the broadly triangular axillary lobe and the apically spined and peculiar third antennal joints (see text- figs. 257, a and b).
