Terry Walton has kept an allotment for over 50 year from the age of 4 in the Rhondda valley, South Wales, UK. He started by helping his dad clearing the ground and collecting sheep manure by the bucketful. He got his own plot aged 11 on the side of the mountain where you'll still find him today. Selling his produce helped him buy his first car aged 17. BBC Radio 2 Jeremy Vine show adopted Terry as there allotment expert after he wrote into to the show. He is now a TV and Radio personality. He wrote a book about his life and the changes in his community over the years, "My Life on a Hillside Allotment".
