The damage to the travel industry caused by the Coronavirus pandemic has brought forward the retirement of many airline's Boeing 747 'Jumbo Jet' aircraft. Both British Airways and Virgin Atlantic have a pair of retired planes in storage at Heathrow which are gradually heading out for scrap or other uses. Virgin 747 registration G-VROM, named Barbarella, left today bound for a 'boneyard' in Pinal, Arizona. The 747 type served for over 50 years, with Virgin using them since forming. G-VROM entered service in 2001
