Gateway space station, illustration
Illustration showing the different modules of the Lunar Gateway orbiter and the space agencies responsible for them. The Gateway is a small lunar-orbiting space station that is planned for launch in November 2024. It is a joint programme between the USA (NASA), Europe (ESA), Japan (JAXA) and Canada (CSA). It will act as a staging post for mission to the Moon and Mars, a communications relay and a scientific laboratory.
