Bridge and its reflection in the water in the nature reserve Oranjezon in Walcheren, Zeeland, Netherlands

Wikipedia: Oranjezon is a Dutch nature reserve of approximately 400 hectares on the Zeeland Walcheren near Vrouwenpolder. Until 1995 it was used as a water extraction area. The area provided drinking water for Middelburg and later Walcheren; an open water extraction channel was dug for this purpose as part of the job creation. Although the area no longer serves as a water extraction area, the pumping station of the same name is still being maintained. In the event of an emergency, the area can still supply drinking 1995, the area has been managed by the Het Zeeuwse Landschap Foundation. The nature reserve is part of the nature reserve and Natura 2000 area Manteling van Walcheren. It is located in the inner dune edge and has a rich variety of species and biotopes, ranging from one of the widest beaches in Zeeland to pine forest and deciduous forest. The American bird cherry is a real pest in the area. Several dune valleys have been restored in Oranjezon in recent years, allowing plant species such as dwarf sedge and milkweed to reappear. Since then, a few orchids have also been observed.
