Continuing our route, I obferved in the midftof thofe fands, fome rocks of a calcareous nature,w^here I collected fome fine plants, which ftillrefifted the aridity of the foil. Among the greatnumber of the tribe of the protea, wliich I ob-ferved there, I lliall mention tw^o fpecies of hmikfia^w^hich 1 call bank/la repens, and hanlfia nivea.
