A watchsmith works on repairing a customers clock.

London Ontario, Canada - April 4, 2012. Working at the same desk that his father did, Tom Buchenthal repairs the movement for a clock. Oxford Clock Shop was opened in 1954 by Tom's father Hans Buchenthal. The shop has been in the same location on Oxford Street East since it was opened as a clock and jewellery retail store. After apprenticing under his father for four to five years Tom took over the business on his own in 1990. Tom estimates today there are maybe half a dozen watchsmiths in the London area, "it is definately a dying profession" said Tom. The majority of his business is in repairs of clocks as well as occasionaly sales.
