Cosmopolitodus hastalis (isolated on white background), great extinct Lamniform shark, lived worldwide from Oligocene to Pliocene 34 to Ma.

This great shark may have reached 9 meters long, it is thought that it was closely related to the current Makos and perhaps also to the current White Shark. Their teeth are very abundant in much of the world, they were quite large and had characteristics of both modern species. As usually happens with extinct sharks, because it is rarely found more than teeth, its classification has had and still has enough controversies.
