Sailing barge Cygnet on the River Alde, Iken, Suffolk, UK.


Built in 1881 by GH Curel at Frindsbury near Stround, the Cygnet is a sailing barge with a carvel built wooden hull. Her current engine is an inboard diesel by Perkins and her first owner was Walter Winch, a farmer of Ewarton, Suffolk and was used to carry farm produce to Ipswich and Felixstowe. She is now refitted as a private yacht based at Pin Mill near Ipswich.
