The Kōrin Picture Book (Volume 2), 1800s. Nakamura Hōchū (Japanese, d. 1819). Color woodblock printed book; book: 26 x cm (10 1/4 x 14 3/4 in.); book page: x cm (9 15/16 x 7 3/16 in.). Ogata Korin (1658-1716) was one of the most admired artists of Rimpa, or "decorative school painting." These books by the charming later-generation Rimpa artist Hochu record Korin's inventive designs.
