Los Angeles Department of Water and Power ( LADWP ) distributes two free Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs ( CFL ) to customers in an effort to reduce energy usage. CFLs can save an estimated $34 a year per bulb, and last up to 10,000 hours, approximately 10 times longer than a typical incandescent bulb which last 750 hours.
