If the needle were withdrawn at this time, the hyaline material receded to the egg surface and some of it adhered to the tip of the needle. However, when the needle was pulled away from the egg to a considerable distance, the hyaline substance was drawn into a strand which snapped as the needle was pulled farther away. Some of the surface material receded to the egg and formed a nodular projection, while that which adhered to the tip of the needle rounded up and formed.
