Rowers out on the River Cam in Cambridge at sunrise on Saturday morning (Feb 24) braving the sub zero weather is forecast for next week. Britain is set for the coldest February week in five years as freezing air arrives from Russia. Temperatures dropped below -7C in the early hours of Saturday and the cold spell is expected to intensify from Sunday night into Monday. The Met Office has issued an amber cold weather alert, which warns of increased health risks to vulnerable and elderly people.
