Gaza, Palestine. 08 June 2020. Members of the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of Palestine Islamic Jihad, hold a military parade in the centre of Gaza City to mourn former Islamic Jihad leader Ramadan Shallah, who died in Syria on Saturday. Shalah had led Palestine Islamic Jihad since the assassination of its founder Fathi Shikaki in 1995, until 2018. Islamic Jihad was founded in the late seventies in the Gaza Strip following the Israeli occupation of Gaza and the West Bank during the 1967 war, and it is one of the Palestinian resistance factions which reject the Oslo Accords
