Male Eurasian siskin (Carduelis spinus). The siskin is a type of finch. It breeds in northern Europe, parts of Russia and eastern Asia, and migrates south in the winter. It favours coniferous woodland. The siskin is approximately 12 centimetres in length. Photographed in Israel in March.
