De Ruyter. Pictured is Michiel Adriaansz de Ruyter's family crest (1606-1676), Lieutenant-Admiraal-General of 's national fleet. During his service as a commander, he booked many successes in strokes and expeditions and grew into one of the best known Dutch Admiraals De Ruyter died on April 29, 1676 near Syracuse.
