Each of the latter companies wasfurnished with a hose tender and hose. On November r, 1872, Commissioner Campbell resigned, andR. M. Phraner was appointed on the same day to succeed him. Jacob Worth became the sole head of the FireDepartment of Brooklyn, serv-ing faithfully and efficientlyuntil February 7, 1882.
