The Tree of Remembrance, at the Mosley Street end of Piccadilly Gardens, is a metal sculpture tree memorial to the civilians of Manchester killed 1940-1945 during World War 2. It was commissioned by Manchester City Council in 2005. Pigeons are a perceived problem in Piccadilly Gardens. Many are seen here using the metal tree as a convenient roost.
