Pedestrian passes by the Soviet inscription 'The Quarter Checked' dated from 1945 on the building in front of the Hofburg Palace in Josefsplatz in Vienna, Austria. The stencil inscription in Russian language was made by Soviet sappers during the mine clearing of the city in April 1945 shortly after the Vienna Offensive in the last days of World War II.
