Hannah Adams, center, the great-niece of Pvt. Joe Gandara, helps unveil a plaque at the Santa Monica 26th Street/Bergamot train station dedicated to her great-uncle Nov. 4, along with other Gandara family members, Santa Monica Mayor Tony Vazquez, and Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority Chief Executive Officer Phillip Washington. Gandara, killed in action in WWII, was awarded the Medal of Honor in 2014 as part of the Valor 24 program.
