Potato onions and Top onions are grown from bulbs only, growing in clusters, which are separated when planted. pk. White Sets. The best for general use; mild flavor. .30 $ Yellow Sets. Not as mild in flavor as the White variety, otherwise as good. . .30 Top Onion-Sets. Largely used at the West; not much in demand in this section; clusters of small onions for early planting. Per qt., .30; pk., § Potato Onion-Sets. Sometimes called " Hill Onions," or '• Multipliers;" a good, safe sort to use; sure crop and early. Per qt., .20: pk., $ Shallots. Somewhat resembling the last-named sort, but smaller; much used in soups, stews, salads, etc.; very mild flavor. Per .20; pk., $ White Multiplier. These areof a pure silvery-white color, enor- mously productive, frequently producing as many as twenty bulbs in a single cluster from a single bulb; of excellent quality and size for bunching green, or can be ripened for use as pickling onions. Their keeping qualities are remarkable, being kept per- fectly sound for a year. They are- extremely early, being ready for market from three to four weeks ahead of any other kind.
