The basalt lava flows of the Ancud Volcanic Complex form high cliffs on the north side of Cocotue Bay, on the Pacific Coast of Chiloe Island, west of Ancud. Small roads lead to deserted beaches and fishing villages. Sea bass and dogfish are caught from the coastline.
