A Greek Illyrian helmet, 5th - early 4th century BC Bronze skull of thick sheet metal bordered with a row of fine ornamental rivets (type III, variant 2). Face cut-out with straight edges. Long cheek-pieces with pierced holes at the tips for fastening of a chinstrap, terminating into pointed side cut-outs which slope to a horizontal neckguard. Border with fine row of rivets between raised lines. Across the crown a crest rail to hold the plume, laterally bordered by high, pointed mouldings.
