Some of the early varieties, such as Pacific, Estelle, Monrovia, October Frost, etc., are about all cut out. Early Snow has been fine and has created quite an impression on most of the growers. No doubt it is one of the best in market at this time. Some fine Virginia Poehlmann are to be seen and Touset is getting to be plentiful. Pacific Supreme is coming fine and is one of the best pinks we have at this date. Yellow is quite «ca^e this week, as everything in the "^^f ^ ^ V^Bow mum WM cleaned up Octtiber 19 for the footbav game, Michigan vs. O. S, -[JJ. Halliday and Appleton will soon be*in and they will be welcome. Valley has been more plentiful and there has been quite a good demand for it. Violets are coming more plentifully and the quality is much better. The singles are coming with better stems and will soon be up to the winter standard. Various Notes. E. Metzmaier has been quite busy lately on funeral work. Sherman Stephens reports good busi- ness, with mums coming on well. Charles A. Both reports business good. The Livingston Seed Co. is making a run on bulbs and reports some heavy orders for funeral work. The Fifth Avenue Floral Co. is cut- ting some fine mums. The carnations and roses are good at the country plant. Guy H. Woodrow, of the Fifth Ave- nue Floral Co., is seriously ill, having been laid up with typhoid for about six weeks.
