There isnot a home in which its work dwellsthat is not blessed, nor a communitythat is not better for its coming. Ourgovernment recognizes in it a protec-tion for its wards, as well as a saving ofits wealth. Our veterans hail it as thejoy of their declining days. States haveadopted it as a cori-ective, if not a sani-tary, measure ; and what speaks vol-umes for it is that wherever it has beenintroduced it has never failed in ac-complishing all that is claimed for it. As in all things that are directed byhuman thought or controlled by humanjudgment, we expect failures; yet, inthis they are not in the cure, but in thepatient to maintain same. This asser-tion has been proven in hundreds ofcases of alleged failures, that upon ex-amination the patient himself admittedthat it was his own fault and that hereturned to the use of alcoholic liquorsor the drugs, not because he felt heneeded them
