Mrs. Bisselldied in 1863, and on Sept. 14, 1865, Mr. Bissell mar-ried Mrs. Elizabeth Barnard, widow of Dorus , by whom she had three children, one ofwhom is living, Dorus Clark Barnard, of Hartford. Mr. Bissell is a Democrat, but in local electionsvotes for the best man. He has been nominatedto office, but has refused to accept. He and hisfamily are prominent socially, and he has been amember of the F. & A. M. for many years, and wasformerly a member of the I. O. O. F. He and hiswife are both members of the Universalist society,and for many years he has served on the
