Walk For Life was founded in 1989 by HIV and AIDS charity Crusaid. Since then, the Walk has raised millions of pounds to support essential services for people living with HIV. When Terrence Higgins Trust merged with Crusaid in June 2010 it committed to protect the legacy of it’s Hardship Fund and continue to support people living with HIV in poverty. Walk For Life, now in it’s 24th year, continues to be a highlight of Terrence Higgins Trust’s fundraising calendar and raises money exclusively for the Hardship Fund. The Walk has always been an incredibly important event for the HIV community, a chance not only to raise vital sponsorship but also to raise awareness and act as a public platform, giving people a voice to grow and shape the nation’s response to the virus and remember loved ones.
