It can be sown in drills a foot apart, and when the plants are wellup, thinned out till about eight inches apart. Or it can be sown broadcast thinly and trans-planted the same as Lettuce. When the leaves are large enough, say about eight incheslong, tie them up for blanching, to make them fit for table. This can only be done in dryweather, otherwise the leaves are apt to rot.
