Sulphuric acid (H2SO4) in a stoppered glass bottle. This strong acid is used in chemical laboratories as a powerful dehydrating agent. The concentrated form is used as an oxidising agent. On an industrial scale it is used in the production of ammonium sulphate and phosphates for fertilisers, as well as in the manufacture of explosives and paint. This acid is also used in car batteries.
