THE [ i64 ] THE Bell, which fends forth a folemnfound, to invite to prayers, and a ftill moredoleful one, to ring the funeral knell, isalfo ufed for triumphs and rejoicing; and,when the joyful fires blaze, and the feftalbowl goes round, heightens the mirth, andincreafes the pleafures of thofe who are dif-poied to feftivity.
