Chong Kneas is a small village built on the Tonle Sap Lake near Siem Reap On the lake itself there are a few traditional Khmer houses built on stilts but others without stilts float on the water The homes range from elaborate barges to simple covered fishing boats 6 000 villagers use boats to do their shopping and errands There are floating schools shops restaurants temples and even a hospital built on rafts
