Court prosecutions by the Traffic Division for the year 1964 amounted to 31,088. A total of 1,490 noticeswere issued for moving violations, of which 4S3 were warnings and 1,007 were summoned for court appearances. Parking fines paid at the Central Municipal Court for the year 1964 amounted to ,, which isan all-time high, surpassing the previous high of $1,008, of 1963. by SPEED KILLS 15 The M-i Safety Squad of the Traffic Division continued its program of safety talks and demonstrations inthe schools of the city. This program was also presented, during school vacation periods, in the various publicplaygrounds. The weekly radio program was again presented through the facilities of Station WEZE with the co-operation of the teachers and pupils of the participating schools. Arrangements were made and police details provided for the conduct of a complete schedule of parades aswell as for many celebrations and events of a public nature occurring during the year. Special details were providedfor emergencies, including several multiple alarms of fire, civil defense exercises, and many national conventions.
