The mysterious Nazca lines form a spider, one of many animal and geometric shapes best seen in the air in Peru's southern desert. Anthropologists believe the Nazca culture that created them began around 100 and flourished from 1 to 700. They were made with light-colored sand when the top foot of rock was removed by an ancient culture.
