Remains of the old bridge on the Skeiðarársandur, which was demaged during the 1996 Grímsvötn eruption and the jökulhlaup. Hvannadalshnúkur and Svínafellsjökull. Hvannadalshnúkur (2110m) is the highest peak in Iceland. Svínafellsjökull is one of the outlet glaciers (glacier tongues) of the Vatnajökull ice cap. Skaftafell, Vatnajökull National Park (the largest national park in Europe), Austurland (Eastern Iceland).
