The phenomenal popularity of the Green Mountain potato during the past few years has induced us to work up a potato of this type which matures early. We are pleased to say that we have succeeded in doing this with the result that we now offer for the first time the Early Green Mountain potato. This potato retains the handsome white color, shape and ap- pearance of its parent, the Green Mountain, but matures about three weeks earlier. Grown side by side with Early Rose, it is ready for market as soon as this sort, and greatly out-yields this standard variety. We would remind our customers that in all the east- ern markets the demand for white round potatoes is greatly on the increase, as is evidenced by the fact that Green Mountain and Rural New Yorker, and similar types have been quoted above the ruling market price for the past 2 or 3 years. We are therefore much pleased to be able to intro- duce the pioneer of this type in early potatoes. We cannot too highly recommend this new beet. It is an extra early flattish beet, very small top, with single tap root, and one of the smoothest sorts we have ever grown.
