From the following list we have eliminated everything that is worthless and out of date, and have avoided misleading descriptions and offering the same sorts under different names—a favorite trick of sensational seeds- men, who desire to swell their catalogues. The new varieties occasionall}- listed have all been submitted to careful tests and may be relied upon to give perfect satisfaction. The directions for culture here given are ap- plicable only to Southern California, Arizona, Mexico and other semi-tropical localities. SEEDS IN PACKETS.—All vegetable seeds except Cauliflower, are put up in five-cent packets, which are liberally filled, and just as fresh as our bulk seeds. We send these by mail prepaid at 25 cents per half dozen, 50 cents per dozen, or twenty-five for $ GLOBE ARTICHOKE. ARTICHOKE. The Globe Artichoke is cultivated for its flower heads, which are cooked like asparagus. Plants set in any good garden soil 2 feet^part will remain in bearing a long time. Ji^rge Green Globe 75c., per lb. $ -The standard variety. Per oz. 25c., lb. ASPARAGUS. Culture.—One ounce for 60-foot row. Soak seed for 24 hours in warm water, and sow thinly in rows 1 foot apart. Thin out seedlings to 4 inches in rows. When the roots are one year old, prepare a bed of manure and soil about 2 feet deep. Set out roots 6 inches below the surface, and 12 inches apart.
