SpaceX Dragon cargo spacecraft, July 2018, as it approaches the International Space Station (ISS) during an orbital night period. This capsule was designed and manufactured under NASA's COTS (Commercial Orbital Transportation Services) initiative, set up to encourage private companies to ship cargo to the ISS after the retirement of the shuttle program in 2011. In 2012, this capsule became the first commercial spacecraft to successfully rendezvous with and be attached to the ISS. The spacecraft seen here was launched on 29 June 2018, on mission SpaceX CRS-15, docking with the ISS on 2 July 2018. Photographed on 2 July 2018.
