The windows of the Presbytery of Ely Cathedral, known as the Ship of the Fens, seen through the garden of the Almonry Tea Rooms. Ely, Cambridgeshire

Ely Cathedral, with its unique 14th century octagonal lantern tower, is a marvel of the medieval world. Much of England's third longest Cathedral is over 900 years old with a 13th century Quire and the 14th century Lady Chapel. Around the cathedral itself are attractive parklands and one of the largest collections of medieval monastery buildings still in daily use.
