It iscrisp and brittle. The skin is of a rich, scarletcolor, while the flesh is pure white, and alwaystender, mild and sweet. It has a small, shorttop, and is well adapted to open air culture orto forcing under glass. In favorable weatherand in good soil it will mature in 18 to 20 daysfrom the sowing of the seed. It is extensivelyused by market gardeners and truckers, whohold it in high esteem. It is good, quick andprofitable.
