Technical Sgt. Johnny Gomez, of St. Mary County, Md., was born and raised in Medellin, Columbia before he moved to Boca Raton, Fla., in 1982. After graduating high school, Gomez enlisted in the Air Force in 1987. Gomez is currently deployed to Helmand province, Afghanistan, as an aeromedical evacuation technician with the 651st Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, Regional Command Southwest.
