Victorian Cabinet Card portrait of a man in a suit, standing in a garden. Taken about 1890 by Henry Van der Weyde, using an electric light, the “Van der Weyde Light”. Van der Weyde, an American portrait painter opened his studio in London at 182 Regent Street in 1877. He became the first photographer to install and take portraits by electric light allowing him to take a lot of portraits in a short period of time.
